Role Objective

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of utility-scale solar photovoltaic plants and substations. The successful candidate will support plant performance, conduct maintenance activities, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure compliance with Saudi electrical regulations and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Solar PV Operations & Maintenance

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on solar PV systems.
  • Maintain photovoltaic modules and supporting infrastructure.
  • Support operation and maintenance of inverters and SCBs.
  • Monitor UPS systems, transformers, and switchgear equipment.
  • Operate and maintain solar tracking mechanisms.
  • Maintain robotic module cleaning systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and testing.
  • Ensure maximum plant availability and performance.

SCADA Monitoring & Troubleshooting

  • Monitor plant performance using SCADA systems.
  • Investigate alarms and operational faults.
  • Troubleshoot communication failures.
  • Identify and resolve DC field issues.
  • Support remote monitoring systems.

Electrical Maintenance

  • Perform maintenance on HT and LT electrical systems.
  • Conduct insulation resistance testing.
  • Support cable fault diagnostics.
  • Inspect protection systems and control circuits.
  • Maintain transformers and switchgear equipment.
  • Assist with protection relay testing.

Required Qualifications

  • Technical Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of solar PV operations and maintenance experience.
  • Experience working with utility-scale solar plants.
  • Knowledge of PV tracking systems.
  • Experience with robotic solar module cleaning systems.
  • Understanding of electrical safety procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
