About the Role
The Associate Payment role is responsible for validating and processing payment requests received through different internal channels across the bank. The selected candidate will ensure payment accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance with banking procedures and SWIFT standards.
This position focuses mainly on back-office banking operations and internal service delivery, ensuring payment requests are processed efficiently and within required timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Review payment-related documents received through internal systems and process payments according to SOPs.
- Validate online payment transactions and ensure compliance with SWIFT standards.
- Prepare SWIFT messages for manual payment requests.
- Set up standing orders requested by bank branches.
- Prepare Manager’s Cheques as requested by clients.
- Process transaction vouchers and internal postings.
- Maintain payment accuracy and operational integrity.
- Prepare accounting entries for AML rejected payments.
- Coordinate with branches and internal departments to resolve payment queries.
- Ensure payments are processed within cut-off timelines.
- Assist in process improvements and system testing (UAT).
- Reconcile suspense and General Ledger (GL) accounts regularly.
- Ensure all receivables and payables are accurately recorded.
Requirements & Qualifications
To qualify for this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:
- University Degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 3 years of banking experience.
- Strong knowledge of Fund Transfer Operations.
- Knowledge of SWIFT payment processing.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong English language proficiency.
- Excellent MS Office skills and typing accuracy.
