About the Mining Engineer Role
The Mining Engineer position supports tactical mine planning and operational execution activities at Rio Tinto Borates in Boron, California.
Working closely with mine planners, operators, maintenance teams, and technical specialists, the engineer helps create short and medium-term mine plans, production forecasts, stripping plans, and operational schedules designed to maximize efficiency and achieve production targets.

The Boron operation is known for its strong safety culture, technological innovation, environmental responsibility, and long history dating back to the famous 20 Mule Team Borax operations.

- Assist tactical mine planning activities.
- Work closely with mine operations teams.
- Monitor mine plan execution performance.
- Support production target achievement.
- Participate in planning and production meetings.
- Prepare production reports and planning inputs.

Mine Planning Responsibilities
