About the Research Assistant Position
The Research Assistant will support the UNH Space Science Center (SSC) and the 410 Research Laboratory. The role focuses on developing immersive educational experiences using Virtual Reality (VR), visualizing complex scientific datasets, supporting NASA outreach programs, and creating engaging educational content.
This position offers hands-on experience with space science research, Unity development, data visualization, STEM education, and scientific communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop interactive Virtual Reality educational environments using Unity.
- Create immersive learning experiences for science and engineering education.
- Design virtual laboratories for educational subjects that traditionally lack laboratory components.
- Develop and improve VR-based teaching materials.
- Create 3D visualizations using satellite-generated datasets.
- Support scientific data interpretation through visual analytics.
- Translate physical science concepts into VR interactions and graphics.
- Implement Python-generated scientific models into VR environments.
- Support NASA press releases through scientific visualizations.
