The Engineering Operation Technician is responsible for maintaining mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems that support AWS data centers. This role involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, monitoring infrastructure systems, supporting facility operations, and ensuring maximum uptime for AWS cloud services.
📝 Key Responsibilities
- Inspect electrical, mechanical, and fire safety equipment daily.
- Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and EPMS.
- Perform preventive maintenance on generators, UPS systems, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and motors.
- Troubleshoot facility equipment and perform repairs.
- Support rack installation and decommissioning activities.
- Create technical documentation and maintenance reports.
- Coordinate with contractors and facility vendors.
- Ensure compliance with AWS operational and safety standards.
- Travel between AWS facilities when business needs require.
- Support multiple data center locations during operational expansion.
🎯 Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year of electrical, mechanical, or mission-critical facility experience.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work night shifts, weekends, and rotating schedules.
